Drive home and Easter

First of all I want to wish everyone a very Happy Easter.  We had a wonderful day going to church with Lana's family.  Sacrament was so spiritually uplifting with great talks and beautiful music.  After church we had planned on having dinner as a family, but the Martines family invited us and a few other couples over, so we gathered our food and went over there.  The Martines' are especially nice.  They invited us over last visit also.  It is always great to visit with them.  It was so pleasant and nice to be spending Easter dinner together.  We didn't know the other couples, but we sure enjoyed their company.  It's amazing how you can have such a nice time with people you have never met before, but have so many things in common with.  The gospel does that.  It brings people together.
How blessed we are to have the gospel in our lives.  How grateful I am for the atoning sacrifice of our Savior Jesus Christ.  What a blessed life we live.
Our trip to Niagara Falls ended a bit differently than we expected.  Just as we drove into the parking lot of the Hotel the night before we were to leave, the car broke down.  In the morning John and Rob went to Mr Tire of Canada to get it repaired.  Many hours and $600 dollars later the car had a new alternator and some other stuff and we were able to be on our way.  It really turned out okay though because while the guys were with the car, the rest of us packed up the stuff and put it in the hotel storage room.  Then we were able to go walking and looking around some more and even doing a little bit of shopping.  Little L was happy because she got to buy a huge plastic tube full of colored sugar which she had been wanting for the past few days.  Also the littles got to have one more swim in the pool.  Then we went to lunch at Ruby Tuesday and even got picked up by Rob and John just outside the restaurant.  We then had a LONG drive home.  We, especially Rob the driver, were tired and spent the last 2 hours singing hymns together to keep each other awake.  We got home around 1:00 a.m.

I'm sorry you experienced car troubles! But I'm glad that things turned out okay.

It's hard staying awake on late night drives, isn't it? I've tried singing to help the driver stay awake, but I've been known to fall asleep in the middle of a song! Foolish.
