If you look closely, you will see that the right side of the castle is of stone and the left is an addition made of brick. The owners still reside on the left side while the right side is open for visits. The grounds used to be gorgeous with manicured lawns, hedges, flower gardens, crops etc., but now they are unkempt.

I've never been to a castle! So cool! :)
Just curious, do the canals smell??? I've never been to Venice and have wondered the same thing about the canals there.
The canals themselves do not smell bad, but there were lots of places in the city and near the canals that smelled really, really bad. Strong sewer smell. Ewwww
